Since I am 50% Irish, I love St. Patrick's Day. The kids were so excited this morning when a sneaky leprechaun turned our pancakes green. They thought that was so cool. The kids had so much fun at school and pre-school looking for pots of gold and leprechauns. It started out as such a great day, and then I don't know what happened. The day just kept getting worse and worse. I think it began when I was doing my taxes, sorting out an online bill pay problem, and trying to keep my kids from fighting. The kids were playing in the yard when I heard this horrible scream. I ran to see what it was and there was blood. With 4 boys there is often blood, I guess. At first I thought it was Aaron's nose but then I soon realized he was actually missing one of his front teeth and that the blood was coming from his mouth. I freaked out, fixed Aaron up and had Davin search for his tooth in the grass. I called the dentist, put the tooth in milk, found a neighbor to watch the other kids and ran him to the dentist. When I got there, they told me that they would not be putting his tooth back because it was a baby tooth and could possibly damage the permanent tooth if we tried. I was devastated. He won't get his adult tooth there for another 3 years. My son now looks a little more "hillbilly". (Still darling as ever, though) Jason says he’ll just fit in down here better. Funny. So after that tragedy and coming to grips with the fact that his tooth is really not going to go back in, I had to get decorations for an Enrichment activity I was in charge of. I went to the local grocery store for balloons. Simple enough task, right? Not today. Today, (of course) they were all out of helium. (Which is so typical for this area to just run out of things and not worry about it). I went to the other places that sold balloons and they were all closed. Of course. I went home and cried for five minutes and then decided to call good ol’ Wal-mart. They don’t sell helium balloons, but I asked if they had any helium somewhere in the back. They did! I asked if I could buy my own balloons and wondered if they’d fill them. The lady at customer service was awesome. She did it for me. I got my decorations and was there just in time. I guess everything worked out. It could have been worse. I’m glad it was just a tooth. Still, after today’s events, I am not feeling so Irish. Or lucky.
But then there is this little face, (and the other three as well) and I realize that I really am SO lucky and so blessed. Who could not smile looking at that sweet face!?

Amen sista! You are just so cute, I think the whole day went wrong when, I was doing my taxes..! I don't even have four boys to look after and I was about to murder someone while doing mine. I kept making mistakes and it was telling me I was going to owe all this money, luckily daddy saved me from my stupidity. Despite all the crazyness and your toothless hillbilly child (haha it will be funny someday), you are so blessed! You have beautiful, sweet little boys and you are a wonderful mommy! Sorry you had a poopy day, but I love love love that you chose to end it on a positive note. We always have that choice, and you are a great example of that. Love you guys!
What a day!!! Aaron still looks as cute as ever. After awhile you won't even care or really notice :) On days like that you have to find the "tender mercies" like the sweet lady at walmart :)
We really do need to all get together soon!!! MOM and Aunt Barb...hint hint :)
Am, you write so well...you eloquently helped us relive your horrible, not so lucky day (which we have ALL experienced if we have lived long enough) while still helping us to recognize our blessings! You are so amazing...truly!!
Shannon told be about what had happened. Boys are just rougher than girls, (except Shannon held her own pretty well with her bros.)
Ask her about "Wild Calf".
Sorry you had a stressy day! Darn those leprechauns! Didn't they see you were doing the green thing? Little boys are so cute...even when they are prematurely toothless. big hugs, from the cold white north!
Way cute pics! I hope the last couple days have been better for you! When it rains, it poors! And Aaron still is so cute, so he does not look like a hillbilly! You are so funny!
Oh I'm sorry! NOT a good day. He still looks darling though, and being the age he is, he can get away with missing a front tooth! That's cool you are 50% irish - I didn't know that. I hope your days are going better!
Well, think of it like this! At least us retards will be able to tell your twins apart now :). Okay that may not help, but still it's cute. And he is a boy. I wish R would knock a few of his out on accident so he'd stop asking me to "wiggle them" for him all the time.
Oh Am I love you so much...Just when i think i'm the only one with a crazy life I just look across the fence in my backyard or get a phone call and realize I am so not alone and you are always there to understand. Love the background...where did you find it?
Amberly - you really do have such cute, sweet kids. You have a great outlook and can see the positive through all the junk! Y'all should come to Savannah one year for St. Patyy's. We have the 2nd largest celebration in the country. My kids don't even have school that day. Plus, there are plenty of true hill-billy's around here. He'd fit in no problem!
P.S. I've heard your boys are having influence over my nephew. All he wants in life right now is a dirt-bike! Too funny!
Guess I'm not very blog punctual... cute that you make green pancakes! Glad you've recovered from the crazy, stressful day... only to have yet another one tomorrow! ha ha j/k
I haven't been on here forever! I love the new look! I guess I have been a facebook snob lately :) You will look back at these days and laugh...we will be in our rocking chairs here in Ephraim and whine about our daughter in laws together :) I love you so much!!!! Had fun with you today :) Oh and looking at your family pic at the top, wow, what a good looking family!!!
