The Girls

I always love this time of year for a lot of reasons. I love the crisp air, the colorful leaves and eating pumpkin bread, and well, anything with pumpkin in it. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I still love trick-or-treating and dressing up as much as the kids do. The chocolate is always a bonus too.

The Guys

I always love this time of year for a lot of reasons. I love the crisp air, the colorful leaves and eating pumpkin bread, and well, anything with pumpkin in it. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I still love trick-or-treating and dressing up as much as the kids do. The chocolate is always a bonus too.
We played another murder mystery dinner this year and it was staged in the 1920's. Most of the girls were flappers, I was the Mayor's wife and Jason was the Mayor. My Grandma let me borrow one of her dresses and a broach that was her mother's. It was beautiful. It was a lot of fun eating and hanging out with friends and playing our parts. Some of the characters took it so seriously and never got out of character the whole night. It was hilarious! These dinners are always so much fun and lets us all be silly and dress up like kids. Thanks for hosting such a fun night Clint and Billie!
Before the race...
After the race... Way to go guys!!
Ewwww! Pumpkin Goo!
Jason's brother came to spend Halloween with us and attend the 2010 Sage Riders race. James and Jason raced and it was actually kind of fun watching it. (Between prayers that they wouldn't get hurt, of course). I think it made Jas happy that we were there cheering him on. It was the 1st race I've ever been to. Jason took 1st in his class and James took 2nd in his class. It was fun to hang out with Shannon and the girls and let the kids play and consume large amounts of candy.
Our "Team"
Sorting out the candy is the best!
I kind of have this thing with family Halloween "themes". I'm sure it's an illness of sorts. I know that it won't last forever, but the boys were happy with our theme this year. My other idea was a pack of crayons or something... The boys were all football players from different teams and I was the cheerleader and Jas was the referee. We laughed about the irony of these costumes. We honestly feel like we are refereeing a team of football players most days. Then we decided Jas should probably be the cheerleader (not because he'd look good in a skirt, but because he's always egging the boys on) and I should be the Ref because after all the mayhem, I'm usually the one to blow the whistle on it all! The boys had so much fun trick-or-treating and carving pumpkins. I think it made it even more fun having their cousins there with them. I don't think Jessica, Daniel and Maren minded stocking up on candy either. It was a really fun October!
In other news, I met with a few doctors on the 1st of November. One was a Chiropractor and the other a Naturopath. I am so excited to say that for the first time in a long time (about a year) I actually feel supported. The attitude they had was so fresh and new. They were concerned about ME and not just what the tumor is up to. I got an adjustment on my spine that made an incredible difference to my back pain. That in and of itself is exciting news. I will be learning more about essential oils and their use (that is actually not as "new age" as you might think. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years to treat all sorts of ailments). With the support and guidance of these doctors, I feel infused with hope and excited about the possibilities of what lies ahead.
I know, I know, I lost about half of you when I said the word Naturopath. You began thinking of incense and the word "quack". That's okay. I probably would have thought the same thing a few years ago. It doesn't matter. I am excited and have someone backing up my hope. That is huge. I'll take it. I am grateful for all the support and prayers from all of you and I think that there was a little serendipity involved in me finding these doctors. I know I am being watched over and that doors open when the time is right.

Dude. I know I'm skipping ahead but you didn't tell me you found a naturopath! SWEET!! I guess I need to call you sometime soon and see how that is going. Essential oils are pretty great, even though I'm slacking on my healthy streak, I did find an awesome way to use them the other day, if your kids ever have an earache, put lavendar, tea tree and olive oil in there ears. (you know what I mean, like mixed together at the right drops per each...) I did it for Tremayne and he has had horrible ear problems all his life, he was supposed to have tubes. Long story short, even he was shocked that it really made his earache go away... for good!!! Love all your murder mystery pics and holy crap your family is so cute. Team Halloween!!! Oh, and YAY Jas, that is so awesome 1st place what what!! LOVE YOU!!!! MISS YOU!
I love all the updates. I didn't get to see your cute family "team" and that was awesome. I'm happy your back is feeling better, and that you are finding some emotional support. We love you and we are always praying for you!
