Baptism Day

The Carroll's

Four Generations

The look I got when I said I wanted another picture...

Davin's "Pappy" and Step-grandmother, Lisa

Davin was baptized in the second week in October. I can't believe I'm old enough to have an 8 year old! I was so excited for everything. I had fun doing his invitations and he wrote his testimony that I sent with the invites. Most of his family was able to attend. It was such a special day. He took it so seriously and really wanted to become a member of the church and receive the Holy Ghost. It was amazing to watch him be immersed in the water and be baptized by his dad with his Grandpas as witnesses. We were so grateful for the men that confirmed him with Jason. Davin has some amazing examples to look up to.

After the baptism, we went back to our house for a luncheon. I planned everything ahead so it was pretty simple. The only stressful part was trying to prevent people from ripping off their ties and slipping out of their church clothes faster than lightning! I am really big on pictures. (I know it's obvious) The moment comes and goes and if you don't capture it, you just don't have it. Thanks to those that know me and realize how important it is to me to have a picture of you on this special occasion. It was fun to visit with friends, family and those that mean so much to our family. There are many more that I could have invited that are special to us and a support to us, but my house will only fit so many.

Davin got a really beautiful baptism book from my Grandparents. It has pictures for each letter of the alphabet that correspond with a gospel principle, like "C" for covenant. It had a place for all of his guests to sign and write their own testimonies. It was a great gift for his day! Davin got a set of nice scriptures with his name engraved on them from us and lots of amazing gifts from family and friends. Thank you so much for being there for his special day. It meant so much to us and him. We are so blessed to have all of you in our lives.

The boys also played Soccer this fall. Each year I'm impressed at how much better they play the game than the last year. Aaron loved to bounce the ball with his head! That takes skill! They had really good coaches this year and it was so fun to watch them succeed and have fun. Aaron and Collin were still spotted on occasion holding hands running down the field, but for the most part they were seriously into the game and right in the middle of the action. Davin was very serious and scored a few goals for his team. He loved having his friend Gavin on his team. What a fun soccer season!

I am glad that things are starting to slow down a little now... I love these beautiful fall days with all of the colors and crisp air. We picked apples from my dad's tree and decided to get one of our own. It was so fun to plant our first fruit tree. I know it will take a while to produce, but the thought of organic apples falling off my own tree is so exciting! We look forward to Halloween and cozy bread-baking days when it is chilly outside. Life is good.

I LOVED Davin's baptism day and the DVD you made of his life so far.....so tender. He is so serious and sweet, most of the time! Love to you all!

Davin's baptism was so wonderful, and I loved the dvd you made. Of course it made me tear up a little. It was so fun to finally meet your mom, and many of your family. Thanks for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful family!!! (Jason looks like all of my kids when I pull out the camera...you've gotta love that)!
