I'm so glad I was able to celebrate Davin's birthday the way I wanted to this year! We had a small friend party for him on Friday, and then lots of family came and celebrated some more on Saturday. He is one loved kid! He wanted a LEGO party and that turned out to be a really fun theme to work with. The invitations were so simple and fun. I just printed the LEGO logo on cardstock and used dimentionals (or foam pop-ups) to pop up the circles on the legos. So easy, and the kids loved them.
We let the kids build lego creations from an enormous pile of legos spread on a table, and were amazed at what they came up with. We gave awards for different creations and then had a tower building race contest. The kids had lots of fun being creative.
Davin got lots of LEGO's for his birthday, which he loves to build and create with. He also got a few motorcycle toys that he loves too!
For cake and ice cream, I went simple. My friend told me about LEGO candies (which turned out to be sort of hard to find) and I topped cup cakes with these. They turned out so cute!! It was such a simple and fun party to throw for Davin. I used his LEGO creations and random LEGO pieces as decorations and then used bright colors for everything (plates, napkins, balloons etc...) He had such a fun time and I think his friends did too. I gave LEGO treat bags that were just bright colored bags with the same pop-up foam circles as the invitations and filled them with lego candy, star bursts, and bright colored pencils.
I think he had a really fun party and am so glad I was able to be there to see his cute face as he opened his presents and blew out his candles. Davin is such a fun addition to our family. He is smart, creative, artistic, generous and sweet. He is doing really well in first grade and has lots of friends. He is so good to his brothers (at least most of the time) and is a good example to them. They sure look up to him! We love you Davin! Happy 7th birthday!
A lot of Davin's family were able to come and celebrate his actual birthday on Saturday. We had pizza and cake and ice cream and had a lot of fun visiting. We had recently got a new living room set and Jas was glad that our couches were getting "broken in".

Here is everyone checking out the quilt of the United States that Grandma made for Davin. There is a button on each place that I have been so I can tell Davin all about those places. We can add buttons as we go places as a family. He also got lots of books and a motorcycle toy too. We got him some legos and some motorcycle pants that he's been asking for. He was so excited! Then he just had to get in all his gear and scare Grandma Marion by riding around the house on his little motorcycle!
My cute sisters! We all look alike, but are so different too. I just love them!! Tay Tay, we hope we get to add you to our sister pic someday! Davin had such a great birthday! Thanks to everyone that came to celebrate or called to wish him a happy one!!
Here is our new living room set, all broken in! The coffee table has ottomans you can pull out and sit on too. The kids think that's pretty fun! We moved our old couches downstairs along with our TV and entertainment center. It made it more of a family room down there and I love the new living room upstairs.
I know this is so random, but I had to post my glitter toes! My friend Stephanie did them for me so I had something cute to look at while I'm in the hospital. (I know, my feet are NOT cute, but my toenails are, right?!) It was so sweet of her and was fun to chat while she did them. I think I may become a glitter toe addict! They are so fun! Thanks Steph! My glitter toes are going to be the only bright and fun thing in the hospital, I'm afraid.
I am heading to the hospital for the surgery this Thursday. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers! I feel like things are going to go well and that even if it's hard, it will all be okay eventually. I will try to post updates (or show Jas how to do it) so you will know how things went. Thanks again for all of your support and love and prayers, it means SO much!!
I will miss these guys so much while I'm gone. I can't wait to get this burden behind me and get back to my life helping my kids with homework and tucking them in bed at night. I love them all so much. Happy Birthday D-man, I'm glad it was a good one!

I know you will miss them, but I also know it will be so great to get this all behind you! We are still praying and we will continue to pray. Much love!!
You are the best mom ever!
My only advice is to not wish the "burden" away! you have no idea how those parts of you life can change the world and bring some beautiful gifts. You come out on the other end with beautiful changes made and new beautiful gifts to share with others. And your family and friends will gain their own strengths because of you.
I'd never wish those away from anyone.
Love you and I look forward to a little visit later on. You'll do well, I can feel it!
HUGS!
And I have to say that the glitter toes look WAY cooler in person :) The party looked like it turned out great and i love seeing the picture of you and your sisters. What an amazing blessing in your life they are. I LOVE YOU and I am already counting the days til I can see you in the hospital and celebrate good news with a cupcake :) LOVE YOU!

What a cute party. We went past your house on Saturday and Deirdre commented on all the people hang outside. I told it was Davin's birthday party. I loved the cupcakes; they are really cute.
Keeping you in my thoughts.

I'm a little behind on my blogging posts. You are so creative! I might have to steal your Lego idea some day! I heard semi good news about the surgery. I get it all third hand so it's hard to tell what is really going on. It sounds like some more waiting which is driving us mad so I can only imagine what it is doing to you. We're thinking of you! Keep us posted.
LOVE it all...just like I love you! Good days ahead!
