Pajama days

Well, it's been officially "pajama" week at my house. I don't know if it's just the holidays that took it out of me or what, but I have just run out of energy. We had a wonderful Christmas with our little family and then with my parents and siblings. We kept things pretty simple this year and it was just perfect. I will post pictures and update more on that later. Doing it now would involve actually going upstairs, getting the camera, downloading pictures, cropping etc... and I just am not feeling it today. New Year's was fun celebrating with friends (more pics and updates on that later too).

I am hopeful that 2011 is going to be a year of great blessings. So far it has been a little rough. I have not felt 100% as far as my health is concerned and need to start putting ON a few pounds. I guess I have the exact opposite New Year's resolution of 99.5% of the population. January is always a time to "get into shape and lose weight" for most. I am working on doing what I can to allow my body to heal and trying to keep putting faith in Christ and let him guide me where I need to go. If that means I am in pajamas all day and don't get the laundry done, so be it.

I have been amazed lately at how God uses other people to accomplish His purposes and bless us. I recently was having a rough day and didn't know where to turn when a good friend just happened to show up at my house suggesting that I go get re-hydrated at the hospital. I agreed and was able to get some pain meds and be able to rest. She is such an angel friend and I am so grateful that she was able to listen and act when she was needed. Other friends cared for my kids and brought meals to my family. My sister and her husband showed up unannounced with a loot from Whole Foods to fatten me up and was able to relieve my friend from the hospital and take me home. They had no idea I was in the hospital, but there they were, ready to help. It was as if there were some sort of Heavenly orchestration going on in my behalf. In the following days, friends come to clean and make smoothies and deliver my favorite flavored vitamin water. I am so grateful to all of you for your prayers and love and service. I hope that when I am healthy again I can serve you in your times of need.

A close friend of mine had a scrape with near death recently and it was nothing short of a miracle that she is here. I am in awe of the power of faith and prayers. God is really who is in charge of all things and we will be here as long as we are needed to fulfill our purposes. I am so grateful to her for her friendship and faith and know that angels will continue to attend her.

Speaking of heaven, we welcome little baby Thurston today. He was born earlier today and looks just like his big brother, C.J. We are glad mom and baby are doing well (and Jon too, did you ever get them to offer you an epidural?) and can't wait to see our newest family member. He still doesn't have a name yet so if you have any good ideas, send them their way. It will come to them.

It seems as though trials are all around but at the same time there are many tender mercies and miracles if we are willing to notice them. Happy 2011! May your year be full of blessings and the desires of your heart.

You are such an amazing person Amberly!!! You have been through so much and you keep going like the energizer bunny. :o) You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. It's too bad we can't just suction some of my fat into you...then we would get our new year's goal :o)
