Davin eating his pie. This move is SOOOOO Jason!
We headed up to my mom's for Thanksgiving this year. The food was great and Dad had to do most of it alone because my mom had the flu. Isn't that always the nicest thing to have on Thanksgiving? I felt so bad for her. It seems that stupid bug always shows up this time of year and then again around Christmas. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because we all get together or maybe it stress-induced. The kids couldn't wait for the pumpkin pie, and as you can see, Davin is diving into it face first! After dinner, my cute Grandma read Thanksgiving stories to the kids. They always love that. Can you tell she taught pre-school for years? After we ate lots of great food we got to work! We gave my mom an extreme home makeover for her birthday earlier this month and this is when we could all get together and finish it. We painted their family room, the hall and a spare bedroom that we are turning into a playroom for the kids. It looks so good! I took some "before" pictures but I think I'll wait to post them with the "after" pictures when it's all put back together. The wall color reminded us of soft serve chocolate ice cream. (How could we possible think of food still?) We did a deep red accent wall too that looks so good. In between painting we played Rock Band. I can sing, but I am horrible at the drums and guitar! I always have to be saved. Davin loves playing it and can carry a tune pretty well. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins and Grandpa. He took all the grand kids to McDonald's by himself on Friday. Wow! Brave man! Thanks so much for everything Mom and Dad! We love you!

Looks like you guys had a fun day! My sister had the flu that day too, so she and her family couldn't come. What a terrible day to be sick! I still have a 4-pack of those jars I got at IKEA if you want them, let me know and you can buy them off me or something! Let me know soon though, cause everything is going in boxes!
How fun it is to see pics of the Thanksgiving I missed! I'm so glad all of you could pull it off without me! Dad really did outdo himself and so did you! Great pictures, and THANKS again for everything! Finally had some of your pie...yum!
