Here is my little baby Nathan (when he actually was a baby- shown here at the hospital only 1 day old) I am so sad today as I watch him struggle breathing. The doctors finally diagnosed with asthma. Poor guy! I had previously gone to another doctor, and on another occasion gone to the ER in the middle of the night for the same symptoms. They both sent me home and told me it was a virus. After getting the same "virus" for the 3rd time, I started to wonder. Last night was a really long night listening to my little one struggle and wondering if I should go to the ER again or not. I'm so glad that my friend Lisa has been through the same thing with her son so I had a little insight as to what it may be. After treatments with the nebulizer and a steroid, he is starting to sound much better and is almost back to his personality-filled self. It just goes to show you that you have to listen to what you feel and that doctors just don't know everything. I'll know to watch it closer the next time it happens. I'm so glad that we finally found out what the real problem was with Nathan so he could start breathing easier. Then, to top things off, as I raced to the pharmacy to fill his prescription while he wheezed in the back seat, I got pulled over! That's all I needed! I guess it was a construction zone so the speed limit was reduced but I was going too fast anyway. Luckily, he just gave me a warning and believed my sob story. Needless to say, it hasn't been a good day. I'm so glad that Nathan is doing better now and hopefully we can both sleep well tonight.

I am so glad Nathan is feeling better! There is nothing worse than to see your baby struggle to breathe. I hope they can keep it under control and everything goes well!!
LIttle Nathan is a lucky boy to have a clever, intuitive mommy! You did a good job:) I'm glad he's going to feel better, and now you may be able to track down what triggers his asthma and that will help.
big hug, A. Doe
Thank goodness for your intuition, Amberly. It's so awful when your children (or child) is ill or can't breathe, especially when he or she can't talk yet to explain. Best wishes on finding Nathan's triggers so you can help him avoid more attacks. Kate
Poor little guy! I know what that's like--asthma is no fun! But I'm glad that he's doing better.
Wow, poor Nayners. And yes, I think we have all figured out (in some very interesting ways) that doctors are not always right. You are such a strong, wise mother and should always go with your gut. I'm also glad the cop was nice, I would have to kick some butt! Give him hugs and kisses, extra for me. Glad all is well, love ya!
Poor little NaNa...it breaks your heart when they suffer! Hopefully it was just all the DUST from camping that triggered it and that it can be kept under control in the future for him. Give him big loves from me!
