8 Things about Davin

Davin has been tagged so we will highlight him...

1. Davin Andrew Rhodes is his full name and he is the oldest child in our family. We were married for almost 5 years before we had him so every one was very excited to meet him. I remember after having him how amazing (and terrifying) it was to have a tiny person that was all mine. He was a really good baby for me and was so much fun!

2. Davin is quite artistic I think. I have pictures he drew when he was only 3 years old that to me are amazing. He would include so much detail and really draw how he saw his world. He loves to paint, draw and create all sorts of things. He's even drawn up plans for his "clubhouse". Get started on that Dad!

3. He has an incredible sense of humor. He is constantly making us laugh. He is so fun to be with and can make friends instantly and with just about anyone. He loves to be social and have friends over and can't wait for family events where he can spend time with his cousins.

4. He loves motorcycles, much to his mom's dismay. I'm sure he gets this from his dad who loves them too. He has his own little Honda 50 which he can now ride and is so excited about it. Sometimes it's just annoying how much he keeps talking about it! I respect his interests and try to allow him to continue to cherish this hobby of his despite how much it scares me!

5. He is a spiritual giant. I think he has the biggest spirit! He is so sensitive to things that most of us are unaware of. I love his simple prayers that thank Heavenly Father for "our eyes" and "that we can breathe" and "for the earth" and "for our soft beds" and so on... He always amazes me and makes me want to be a better person.

6. His favorite colors are red, white and black. His favorite foods are pizza (big surprise), strawberries, brownies, watermelon and ice cream. His favorite thing to do is ride his bike, ride the 50, go camping, go swimming, draw, and play with his brothers.

7. He had a hernia when he was only 8 months old and we had to go to Primary Children's and have an operation. I have never been more scared. I just don't like anesthesia at all. He was so little, but he did great and has had no problems since.

8. His favorite people in the world are his cousin James and his grandpa. He loves James because he's older (now 12) and rides a motorcycle and plays football. He is constantly talking about him and can't wait till the next time we see him again. He loves his grandpa Carroll because he is lots of fun (and funny) and is always finding fun things to do or silly things to say. Plus, he always has a fully stocked supply of wintergreen lifesavers and Chips Deluxe cookies!
